Position Summary: EMP Labels is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flexographic Press Operator to join our production team at our facility in Fishers, IN. As a Flexographic Press Operator, you will play a key role in producing high-quality, durable labels for industries such as breweries, food and beverage, industrial drums, IBCs, oil lubricants, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
Setup, operate and maintain Mark Andy E5, P5E, 4150, and 2200 flexographic presses and In-line KTI Turret Rewinder
Mount plates, load substrates, and adjust ink and pressure settings to ensure color accuracy, registration alignment, and overall print quality.
Perform print runs of various types, including 4-color process and up to 8-color jobs.
Mix inks and manage ink types including water-base, film, and UV inks.
Monitor quality assurance during production, inspecting finished products and addressing print defects or inconsistencies.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on press equipment according to the schedule, minimizing downtime.
Record job statuses, material usage, and labor information through production software.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet deadlines and deliver products that exceed customer expectations.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and workplace procedures for a safe work environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
At least 2+ years of proven experience as a Flexographic Press Operator or in a related printing position.
Strong understanding of flexographic printing techniques, materials, and equipment.
Previous experience with Mark Andy Flexographic Presses is preferred
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain press performance.
Exceptional attention to detail with a strong eye for color accuracy.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small team environment, and adapt to change.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and basic mathematics.
Experience with UV coatings, laminates, and variable data printing is a plus.
